NDC Deputy Director of IT Slams Koforidua High Court Ruling, Vows Appeal

The Deputy Director of IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, has reacted strongly to the Koforidua High Court’s dismissal of a petition against the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, calling the ruling “a total travesty of justice.”

Speaking to the media following the court’s decision, Dr. Tanko-Computer expressed deep dissatisfaction with the outcome and announced that the NDC will not accept the ruling quietly.

“We as a party, the NDC, will not accept this. We are going to appeal against it,” he stated. “We have sought clearance from our legal office, and we will be filing an appeal in court. We are not going to allow this ruling to stay.”

He further accused the ruling of paving the way for what he described as “illegal people” to hold seats in Parliament.

“These are the things they do to allow illegal people to parade themselves as MPs in Parliament,” he charged. “And they will be causing all manner of noise and disturbing everybody’s ears in the House of Parliament. These are illegal Members of Parliament, and we are going to fight it.”

The Deputy Director of IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, clarified that the NDC’s position is not an attack on the judiciary.

“We are not bastardizing the court,” he said. “We respect the court and whatever they do, but we believe that this time, the court got it wrong.”
