NDC Continues Kpandai Campaign Despite Supreme Court Suspension — Rashid Tanko

The Deputy Director of Elections in charge of IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Rashid Tanko, has disclosed that the party is continuing its campaign activities in the Kpandai Constituency despite the Supreme Court’s directive to suspend the planned parliamentary rerun.

Speaking on the matter, Mr Tanko explained that the Supreme Court’s ruling delivered on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, only suspended the rerun scheduled for December 30, 2025, and did not amount to a cancellation of the exercise. He said the party considers the suspension an opportunity to further engage voters while awaiting the court’s final determination.

According to him, the NDC remains confident of prevailing in the case, which has been adjourned to January 13, 2026. He stated that the party possesses what he described as compelling evidence and is prepared to expose what he termed “fraudulent tactics” allegedly being employed by lawyers for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the legal process.

Mr Tanko also clarified that NDC lawyers were absent from court during the hearing because they had not been served with the application. He insisted that had they been present, they would have robustly challenged the NPP’s arguments.

He added that the NDC legal team is currently filing responses to the application and expressed confidence that the party will strongly contest the matter when proceedings resume on January 13, 2026.
