In a heartfelt and symbolic gesture steeped in tradition and gratitude, Dr. Kwame Kyei, the respected Club Patron of Nations FC, led members of the playing body alongside a large contingent of devoted supporters on a special visit to present the prestigious 2025/26 MTN FA Cup trophy to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
This presentation came after a remarkable cup run in which Nations FC overcame numerous challenges to claim their first-ever FA Cup title. The Sky Blues triumphed in a dramatic final against Dreams FC, battling to a 1-1 draw after regulation and extra time at the University of Ghana Stadium. Joseph Effah gave Nations the lead with a close-range header in the 31st minute, only for Abdul Razak Salifu to equalise for Dreams just before halftime.
With neither side able to find a winner, the contest was decided from the penalty spot, where Nations FC held their nerve to win 5-4, securing the trophy despite having been relegated from the Ghana Premier League earlier in the season — a historic feat as the first club in 34 years to achieve this.
The delegation made the presentation with deep reverence, seeking the King’s divine blessings, wisdom, and continued guidance as the club prepares for the demanding challenges of the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign and the new domestic football season.
