National Service Authority Sets August 14 Deadline for Defaulters, Private Candidates to Apply for 2026/2027 Service

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced Friday, August 14, 2026, as the deadline for the application for PIN codes by defaulters and private candidates seeking to undertake national service during the 2026/2027 service year.

In a statement, the Authority said the exercise is specifically for Ghanaian citizens who completed tertiary education but were unable to enrol for national service in previous years. Eligible applicants include private candidates whose academic credentials have been certified by accredited tertiary institutions, as well as Ghanaian nationals who completed their studies abroad.

The NSA urged all eligible applicants to complete their online registration and submit the required documents to the Authority on or before the deadline. It reminded the public that under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), every Ghanaian who graduates from an accredited tertiary institution is required to undertake national service.

The Authority described the exercise as a final opportunity for eligible defaulters and private candidates to regularise their national service status and advised applicants to ensure all required documents are submitted before the deadline.
