Accra, Ghana – The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has emphasized that the National Economic Dialogue is a reflection of the collective belief in Ghana’s ability to overcome its economic challenges and rise again.
The National Economic Dialogue is a key initiative stemming from the President’s campaign promise to bring together stakeholders to explore practical solutions for reviving and transforming the economy.
Addressing participants at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC), President Mahama acknowledged the severe economic hardships faced by Ghanaians, citing the high cost of living as a major burden on families.
“The cost of living has skyrocketed to unbearable levels, leaving families grappling with the inability to afford even the most basic necessities,” he said.
Rising Inflation and Economic Hardships
The President further highlighted the impact of rising inflation, which continues to erode wages and savings, pushing many citizens into poverty.
“At the same time, inflation erodes the value of wages and savings, pushing many into a cycle of poverty,” he stated.
The National Economic Dialogue serves as a platform for open discussions and strategic planning, as the government seeks collaborative solutions to restore economic stability and prosperity for all Ghanaians.
