“Napo’s Mouth Is His Biggest Problem” — United Party Communicator Blasts Opoku Prempeh Over ‘Wisest Cabinet’ Remark

The Director of Communications for the United Party, Solomon Owusu, has taken a sharp swipe at the 2024 running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, over comments describing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the wisest individual among all cabinets he has served on.

Reacting to the statement, Owusu said he finds NAPO’s public utterances laughable, stressing that each time the former Energy Minister speaks, he exposes a worrying lack of judgment.

“How can you sit in a cabinet of about 19 members and boldly claim that only Dr. Bawumia was wise?” Owusu questioned. “By that single statement, you have insulted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and every other minister who sat at that table.”

Owusu argued that such remarks are reckless and disrespectful, noting that they diminish the collective responsibility and intelligence of cabinet members who served under the Akufo-Addo administration.

He further suggested that Ghanaians should be relieved NAPO was not chosen as Vice President, describing him as a “loose talker” whose comments could embarrass the country on international platforms.

“If he were Vice President, he would be at the United Nations insulting Ghanaians in our own faces,” Owusu claimed.

He cited a previous incident where NAPO reportedly compared President Akufo-Addo’s performance favorably against all former presidents, including his own uncle, former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

“To look your own uncle straight in the face and say Akufo-Addo performed better than all former presidents, including Kufuor, tells you everything you need to know about NAPO’s judgment,” Owusu concluded.
