NANA KODUA KESSE II, ADONTENHENE OF NEW JUABEN TRADITIONAL AREA has extensively written to caution Ghanaians to reject president Akuffo Addo in the upcoming elections. According to Nana Kodua Kesse II, the impugnity with which the Akuffo Addo led government is thriving, the administration posses a great deal of threat of the constitution of Ghana. He recalled events which lead to the compilation of the new voters register.

THE ELECTORAL COMMISSSION:
When Jean Mensah, Chairperson of The E.C. came out to announce that the commission was going to Compile New Voters Register, the Good People of Ghana demonstrated against the decision on the grounds that
( i ) the Covid 19 pandemic demanded strick adherence to safety and social distancing protocols impossible to control during a voter registeration exercise.
(ii) The Cost Involved to the Tax Payer
(iii) The Tendency to de-enfranchise some Ghanaians.
But in the face of the above stated facts and others no stated here, Mad. Jean Mensah ignored the cry of the good people of Ghana to maintain the old register which was credible and reliable considering the fact that same register was used in the 2016 elections out of which President Akuffo Addo was elected president ..
Mad. Jean Mensah, ably supported by the might of certain political forces was successful in her attempt to get Parliament to replace the existing CI 92 with CI 126 recognising Ghana Card or Passport as means for establishing one’s electoral eligibility amd at same time revoking the constitutional credibility of the existing voters register.
Citizenship of Ghana is an entrenched provision in the 1992 Constitution (Chapter 3) therefore no authority has power to change or redefine, not even the supreme court. And by this, all the events which preceded the recently ended registration exercise in relation to the massaging of key provisions and clauses in our constitution to accommodate the dictates and the prescriptions of ci 126 was a Complete Violation of the 1992 Constitution.
Now key constitutional provisions especially on citizenship have been tempered with which threatens our democracy becuase future governments may rely on this constitutionally reprehensible move by the EC and the Akuffo Addo led government and resorting to taking down the sanctity of the constitution.
This is my reason for calling on all Ghanaians to vote the Akuffo Addo led government out for endorsing such an illegality which threatens the spirit and the letter of the constitution of Ghana.
The EC has about Twenty-Eight (28) Political Parties Registered but the N.D.C. and N.P.P. are the only political parties that are active in both Presidential and Parliamentary elections even though some of the leadership of other minor parties like the P.N.C, P.P.P, C.P.P, N.D.P, A.P.C and The U.F.P, have been vocal in the affairs of the nation but their electoral performances leave much to be desired.
The intention for the compilation the new voters register was never about a bloated register which remains, a flop justification nobody has since not been able to point to a single evidence to prove but rather was a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise a section of Ghanaians in the Voter region that the Npp believed are not Ghanaians.
Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah, the Majority Leader of Parliament made an emphatic statement that, compiling a New Voters Register by EC means, the N.D.C. would never have a taste of political power again, so clearly the intention was to help the NPP by preventing a section of Ghanaians the Npp perceived to be loyal to the opposition NDC from registering as we all witnessed in the Volta Region and other settlements by persons of Volta decents.
Now, the Jean Mensah led EC have been able to reverse what was constitutionally reasonable and just, the rest is danger left hanging in air, a very bad precedent which may come back to bite us some day.
- GHANA’S PARLIAMENT;
Jean Mensah, EC Chairperson sent the Ci 126 to Parliament for approval, the NPP Members of Parliament instead of doing due diligence to find out the legal merits and demerits in the use of NIA Ecowas Card as a Proof of Ghanaian Citizenship, used their numbers to endorse it though as Law makers they should have known that was a Violation of the 1992 Constitution because you can’t use an Ecowas Card as a proof of Ghanaian Citizenship.
- SUPREME COURT;
A. Justice Anin Yeboah, the chief justice of Ghana on granting the EC’s relief on CI 126, without Considering what the 1992 Constitution says about Citizenship of Ghana (Chapter 3) in the Compilation of new voters register and ruled in favour of the EC was a complete Violation of the 1992 Constitution.
B. Note; Justice Theodora Wood (Chief Justice) sitting at the Supreme Court in her Ruling in 2015 when Abu Ramadan & Co went to the Supreme Court for Compilation of a New Voters Register because the old Register Contained names of people who had registered with NHIS Card gave her Ruling based on the Constitutional Provision on Citizenship in the 1992 Constitution. She advised the EC to go and Clean the Register by removing the names of those who had Registered with NHIS Card and grant same the opportunity to re-register.
C. Justice Annin Yeboah, instead of giving Credence to Justice Theodora Wood’s Ruling of 2015 (Based on the 1992 Constitution) Justice Anin Yeboah rather gave Credence to the use of NIA Ecowas Card to determine who is a Citizen of Ghana, in compiling a new Register without considering the old Voters ID and even worst of all ruled against the use Birth Certificate which is a basic requirement in the acquisition of passport which same court granted, the contradictions is interestingly annoying for all Ghanaians.
- THE NATIONAL SECURITY IN GHANA
The Ghana National Security had (Hither to) performed professionally until the NPP was given the Mandate to rule Ghana in 2016 Election.
Now it is alleged the National Security has been packed with NPP invisible forces who have taken over the operations of the professional security personnel (Under the command of the commander in chief). We are all witnesses to the atrocities and molestations meted out to some innocent Citizens who wanted to register during the Voters Registration because they were perceived to be Togolese.
The National Security which should give equal protection to all citizens of Ghana rather gives protection to NPP supporters no matter how serious an offence committed by NPP person, they always slip off the hook
Finally; The Good People of Ghana are appealing to the Ghana Military, the Police, GIS, the Fire Service to remain Neutral, Resolute, and not to be Manipulated by any Political Party during the 2020 December 7th Elections; our only HOPE of Survival as a Peaceful and Stable Country is now in your hands because the JANE MENSAH led EC, the N.P.P. Members of Parliament and Justice Anim Yeboah’s ruling on CI 126 have thrown the Constitution and Stability of the Country to the Dogs.
The Time to rise against the Oppressors rule is now.
LET US GO AND VOTE AGAINST N.P.P. IN OUR NUMBERS ON 7TH DECEMBER 2020, ELECTION TO RESTORE THE PEACE AND STABILITY OF OUR COUNTRY GHANA.
