Naanori Primary School Children Narrowly Escape Tragedy as Classroom Collapses Again

A near-tragic incident occurred at Naanori Primary School in the East Mamprusi District, where pupils narrowly escaped death after their classroom collapsed just minutes after teachers had evacuated them.

According to teachers who spoke to Ahotor News, this marks the second time the structure has failed, raising serious concerns about the safety of students and staff.

They described the building as dilapidated and dangerous, with visible cracks that had worsened over time due to neglect and harsh weather conditions.

“We had just moved the children out when the structure gave way.
Had they been inside, the situation could have been devastating,” one teacher recounted, shaken by the close call.

The incident has sparked renewed calls for urgent government intervention, as parents and community members fear for the safety of their children. Many argue that the continued deterioration of school infrastructure in rural areas is a ticking time bomb, with several schools operating in unsafe conditions due to lack of funding and maintenance.

Local education authorities have yet to respond to the crisis, but community leaders insist they will not allow students to return until the government takes immediate action to rebuild the school.
