Ghanaian singer and entrepreneur Mzbel is firing back at claims that she made a controversial statement about the Ga people. A post circulating on social media, allegedly from Pulse Ghana, quotes her as saying, “I don’t employ GA’s, they are too lazy.” However, the “16 Years” hitmaker has come out strongly to deny ever making such a statement.
In an official statement released on her social media pages, Mzbel made it clear that she has “NEVER” uttered those words on any media platform. Instead, she directed Pulse Ghana and other media outlets to refer to her actual interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z on March 22, 2025, where she believes her words were twisted or misrepresented.
“I suggest they obtain the audio from Joy FM or their social media platforms and quote me accurately,” she stated.
Mzbel also called out the irresponsible nature of some media houses and bloggers who rushed to spread the misinformation without fact-checking. She expressed her disappointment and urged those responsible to take down the false reports and correct their mistakes.
Fans of Mzbel have since rallied behind her, flooding her comment section with messages of support. Many believe this is another case of sensationalism in the media, with some urging her to take legal action.
So far, Pulse Ghana has yet to respond publicly to her demands. Will they retract the statement, or will this spark a bigger controversy?
