Asante Kotoko secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea to advance to the final of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup, where they will face Golden Kick FC, who earlier defeated Attram De Visser 3-1 in the first semifinal on Saturday in Tarkwa.
In a tightly contested semifinal, both Kotoko and Chelsea entered the match following narrow victories in their previous rounds. Kotoko edged True Democracy 2-1, while Chelsea claimed a 1-0 win over Bechem United. The first half saw both teams locked in a stalemate, with no goals to separate them at the break.
The second half continued in similar fashion, with both sides battling fiercely. However, in the 82nd minute, Albert Amoah broke the deadlock for the Porcupine Warriors. The forward rose highest to head in a precise cross from Baba Yahaya, sealing the 1-0 win. Despite late efforts, Chelsea could not find an equalizer.
Kotoko now head to the final to challenge Golden Kick FC for the MTN FA Cup title.
