Member of Parliament for Kintampo South, Felicia Adjei, has called on the Government of Ghana to establish a national monument in honor of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings
In a tribute to Nana Konadu, Hon. Adjei described her as a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to empowering women and improving the lives of many Ghanaians. “Ghana has lost a great woman, and I believe the government will give her a befitting burial. Beyond that, I hope a national monument can be established in herhonorr.
She opened doors for many women and was never afraid to challenge the status quo,” Hon. Adjei said.
Hon. Adjei highlighted Nana Konadu’s contributions to national development, including her role in championing the PNDC Law 111 (Interstate Succession Law), which protects the inheritance rights of widows and children.
She also praised Nana Konadu’s 31st December Women’s Movement, which supported numerous women through income-generating ventures.
