A Nissan Nicra with registration number GN 1942-22 has burnt beyond recognition at Galilea in the Ga South Municipality on the Accra- Kasoa Highway of the Greater Accra Region.
The driver who has been rushed to the hospital was travelling from Kasoa to Accra when the incident occurred.
Eyewitnesses told Ahotor News the driver stopped to open his bonnet over what they believe was overheating.
Shortly after opening the bonnet, he discovered fire coming out from the engine and requested for fire extinguisher from nearby shops.
Unfortunately, the extinguisher could not control the fire due to its intensity.
The driver went unconscious and has been rushed to hospital.
The vehicle had burnt before the arrival of Fire officers from the Weija Division.
Currently, the Fire officers are clearing the road to ease traffic.
