
The Moroccan National Women’s Team, Atlas Lionesses have announced engaging Ghana’s Black Queens in test game towards the rescheduled 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The warm up game is slated for February 21 in at the Pere Jego Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco
after which the Lionesses will take on Haiti four days later.
The Queens missed out on friendlies against Senegal and Tunisia in the latter part of last year due to lack of funds and the exercise will be Kim Lars Björkegren first game since appointed to replace Nora Hauptle.
The Swede has a task to lead Ghana’s WAFCON participation for the first time in the last seven years.
The fixture brings back memories as the Black Queens were in fine form defeat Morocco 3-1 in an international friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium in 2020.
This will be the first time outing for the Queen since their 4-0 heavy defeat to Japan in July 2024 in a friendly.
