Momo Vendor Robbed at Gunpoint, Pleads for Increased Security

A mobile money vendor, Eric Nusetor, has shared his harrowing experience of being robbed at gunpoint. The incident has sparked widespread concern about the growing number of armed robbery attacks on mobile money vendors in Ghana.

Eric recounted how two men, posing as customers, approached him in a car. They pretended to want to withdraw money but quickly pulled out a gun and demanded Eric’s bag. The robbers made off with all Eric’s money and drove away, leaving him shaken.

Traumatized by the experience, Eric is now calling on security agencies to deploy personnel to strategic locations, particularly where mobile money vendors operate. He believes a visible police presence would deter criminals and provide a sense of security for vendors.

The incident has highlighted the vulnerability of mobile money vendors to armed robbery attacks. Many vendors are now living in fear, and Eric’s plea for increased security has resonated with the community.

The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that they are taking steps to address the issue. They have encouraged mobile money vendors to report any suspicious activities and promised to increase patrols in areas where vendors operate.

As the authorities work to address the problem, mobile money vendors like Eric remain vigilant, hoping that their pleas for increased security will be heard and addressed.
