The Minority in Parliament is demanding the resignation of Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa over his handling of the recent evacuation exercise involving Ghanaians abroad.
The Minority says the minister must take responsibility for concerns surrounding the evacuation process and provide answers to issues raised about its management.
It is urging Mr Ablakwa to step down from his position, arguing that his handling of the exercise has raised questions about the Ministry’s response to the situation.
The Minority has also called on President John Dramani Mahama to terminate the minister’s appointment if he refuses to resign.
The demand adds to the ongoing debate over the evacuation exercise, with concerns raised about the welfare of the returnees and the management of the process.
However, the call for resignation remains the Minority’s position, as further responses from the minister and the government would be needed to address the concerns raised.
