Medikal, the CEO of Beyond Kontrol, opened up about his past relationship with Nigerian music star Davido, which has since ended in a recent interview.
Medikal revealed that he had always been loyal to Davido, but when he expected the same loyalty in return, he was met with excuses, prompting him to sever ties.
During his conversation with Abeiku Santana, Medikal explained that Davido had reached out to him, asking him to distance himself from Dammy Krane due to ongoing issues between them. Although Medikal had already recorded a song with Dammy Krane, he decided to cut ties with him because of his friendship with Davido.
He also mentioned an incident where someone from Davido’s camp disrespected him. Feeling that he had the right to address it, he reached out to Davido for support, but was met with the response, “The game is the game.” This lack of support led Medikal to realize that Davido was not as loyal as he had thought.
Medikal said, “I didn’t want to discuss the situation with Davido, but it ultimately came down to loyalty. At the time, I had a collaboration with Dammy Krane, and since he conflicted with Davido, I chose to distance myself from Dammy.
However, when I was disrespected by someone from Davido’s camp, and I reached out to him, I was disappointed with his response.
Loyalty has always been important to me, and when I felt that was not reciprocated, it hurt.”
