Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Medikal, has issued a strong warning to fans and critics alike—demanding an end to comparisons between him and other artistes in the industry.
The rapper, known in real life as Samuel Adu Frimpong, took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to vent his frustration over being constantly compared to fellow musicians, including rapper Kwesi Arthur.
Medikal, who rose to fame with a string of street anthems and collaborations with big names like Sarkodie and Shatta Wale, is known for his confidence and bold persona in the music scene. With multiple VGMA nominations and a loyal fanbase, he considers himself unique and in a class of his own.
In a fiery post, he wrote, “Never ever compare me to any artiste, not Kwesi Arthur or anyone. Don’t even dare, are you guys fukn mad?”
According to Medikal, such comparisons are disrespectful and undermine the hard work and individuality that every artiste brings to the table. He insists that he’s the best version of himself and has no interest in competing with others in the industry.
