The Media Coalition for Good Governance has dismissed allegations that LCB Worldwide Ghana is failing to provide effective port disinfection services, describing the claims as unsubstantiated and lacking credible evidence.
Addressing a media briefing, the Coalition said recent accusations by a pressure group that the company’s operations fall below international best practices have not been supported by any technical reports, laboratory assessments, operational audits, or findings from regulatory authorities.
Speaking on behalf of the Coalition, Convenor Kwadwo Baffour Atuahene stressed that safeguarding public health at Ghana’s ports is a critical national responsibility that should be guided by facts, scientific evidence, and verified data rather than speculation.
According to Mr. Baffour Atuahene, an independent review conducted by SARL Africa concluded that LCB Worldwide Ghana’s operations are carried out in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures approved by the Ghana Health Service.
He explained that the company’s activities are subject to regular inspections by relevant regulatory bodies, supported by laboratory validation of the effectiveness of chemicals used in the disinfection process, and monitored through routine performance audits.
Mr. Baffour Atuahene maintained that concerns regarding the company’s operations should be addressed through professional and evidence-based engagement rather than what he described as unsupported public allegations.
He also responded to references made to the 2025 Half-Year Report of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, clarifying that the report was a governance review aimed at identifying potential institutional vulnerabilities and did not make any findings of corruption, misconduct, or wrongdoing against LCB Worldwide Ghana.
The Coalition called on the public to disregard what it described as misleading claims and expressed confidence in the company’s capacity to continue delivering quality disinfection services in support of Ghana’s public health and port safety objectives.
