Medeama SC Snatch Late Victory Against Holy Stars in GPL Thriller

Medeama SC secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against Basake Holy Stars at the Tarkwa T&A Stadium on Tuesday, April 1, in Gameweek 21 of the Ghana Premier League.

The match was a nail-biting encounter, with Medeama coming from behind to claim all three points.

 

The visitors drew first blood in the 28th minute, with Issah Yakubu scoring to give Holy Stars an early advantage. Medeama pushed to equalize, but Holy Stars’ resolute defense and teamwork kept them at bay.

 

Just before the halftime whistle, in the 45+3rd minute, wing-back Kamaradini Mamudu restored parity for the home side, making it 1-1. The goal marked a turning point in the game, as Medeama gained momentum and dominated possession in the second half.

 

The second half saw both teams display quality football, with Medeama applying continuous pressure.

Their attacking efforts were rewarded with a penalty in the 85th minute, but they failed to convert, keeping the score level at 1-1. However, Medeama’s relentless pressure paid off in the 89th minute when Derrick Forjour scored a late winner, sealing a 2-1 victory for the home side.

 

The victory marks a crucial three points for Medeama SC, as they continue to push for a top spot in the Ghana Premier League.

The win also demonstrates the team’s resilience and determination, as they came from behind to secure a hard-fought victory.
