Maxwell Konadu Praises South African Football

Former Legon Cities head coach Maxwell Konadu has praised the competitiveness of South African football, particularly the second-tier league.

Konadu, who recently parted ways with Black Leopards, believes that the South African league surpasses the Ghana Premier League in terms of competition.

Konadu attributes the competitiveness to better remuneration for players, which attracts top talent. He notes that even during international breaks, matches in the South African league are suspended due to the high number of national team call-ups.

“The second-tier league in South Africa is more competitive than the Ghana league,” Konadu said. “They pay their players well, and that has attracted top talent.”

Konadu’s comments highlight the differences in league structure and player compensation between Ghana and South Africa.
