Maxwell Konadu: Ghana’s World Cup Qualification on Track
Former Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities head coach Maxwell Konadu believes Ghana’s Black Stars are on course to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
The team’s recent back-to-back wins have boosted their chances.
Ghana secured 5-0 and 3-0 victories over Chad and Madagascar, respectively, propelling them to the top of Group I with 15 points.
Konadu attributes the team’s success to the support from the Ghana Football Association, government, and fans.
“The players know the country is behind them, and they’ll give everything,” Konadu said. “But if the spirit of the nation is missing, it doesn’t matter who you invite—they will struggle.”
Ghana’s next matches are against Chad and Mali in September.
