Accra Hearts of Oak secured a narrow win over newly promoted side Vision FC on match week 10 of the Ghana premier league at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak went into the game poised for a win after an impressive feat against Medeama SC in their previous game. Vision FC started the game sizing up the home side. With control over possession Hearts of Oak failed to create clear goal scoring opportunities in the first half.
Back from recess substitute Mawuli Wayo scored the opener for the Phobians. Vision FC mounted pressure with the intent of getting an equalizer but Hearts resoluteness in defence stifled any threat from the away side.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare was called into action when Elijah Addae fired in a well executed a free kick. At an acute angle Benjamin Asare paried the ball to safety.
The win moves Hearts of Oak to 4th with 15 points from 10 matches.
