Former General Secretary of Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Yaa Akyempim Jantuah discusses the significance of the driver’s mate in a commercial vehicle, saying the mates account to the driver.
She indicated that, maybe the Vice President who double as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has never sat in a bus or trotro before that is why he is denigrating the importance of a mate.
According to her, the mate is the one who collect the cash and makes an account to the driver, the mate is the one who make sure the cars are full, the driver does nothing when the car is at the station but leaves everything in the care of the mate, it is the mate who will tell the driver to stop at a designation, etc.
Her comment comes after the flagbearer of the NPP Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia said he is just a mere mate to President Nana Addo hence Ghanaians should give him the nod as the driver come December 7 for better governance.
Commenting on this, Nana Yaa Jantoah called on Dr Bawumia to start boarding trotro or bus to know the importance of a driver’s mate.
