“Marriage Is Not on My Agenda” – Bloody Civilian Opens Up About Family Pressure

Nigerian singer-songwriter Emoseh Khamofu, popularly known as Bloody Civilian, has revealed that she currently has no plans to get married, despite ongoing pressure from her family.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Not Just On podcast, the 26-year-old artiste explained that her career in the entertainment industry has significantly shaped her outlook on life, causing her to question some of the traditional expectations placed on women in her community.

The Taraba-born singer noted that while her family still holds certain conventional beliefs about what a woman should aspire to, those expectations no longer align with her personal goals.

According to Bloody Civilian, marriage is one of the topics her family frequently raises, but it is not something she is currently interested in pursuing.

“One thing my family still does not understand about being an artiste is the fact that certain conventional things that they expect of a woman from the North are simply not things that I am excited to do,” she said.

She added, “For instance, marriage is not something that I am thinking of at all. But that question keeps being brought up.”
