Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is close to departing Anderlecht for newly promoted Belgian Pro League side La Louvière, ahotoronline.com can exclusively reveal.
The 28-year-old has struggled for opportunities under head coach Besnik Hasi and has been training with Anderlecht’s U23 side.
Anderlecht is keen to offload Ashimeru, who joined the club in 2021 from WAFA SC and is contracted until 2027. La Louvière, currently 14th in the Belgian Pro League, sees the Ghanaian’s experience as crucial to their survival push.
“Ashimeru’s quality and experience would be a big boost for us,” a La Louvière source said. “We’re confident of completing the deal.”
Ashimeru’s move would offer him a fresh start and regular top-flight football.
