The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has vowed to lead an ambitious industrialization drive in Accra, focusing on areas such as Amasaman, should he be elected president in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
Mahama highlighted that this initiative is central to the NDC’s vision of establishing a 24-hour economy, a policy aimed at significantly reducing unemployment and boosting economic activity around the clock.
During his campaign tour, Mahama visited key constituencies, including Amasaman, Domeabra-Obom, Trobu, and Anyaa-Sowutuom, where he outlined the party’s main policy proposals to the electorate. Addressing the chiefs and residents of Adjen-Kotoku in Amasaman, Greater Accra Region, Mahama pledged to transform the Amasaman-Suhum corridor into a designated industrial zone.
This zone would attract local and international investors to establish factories, operating on a 24-hour basis to maximize productivity and employment opportunities.

In addition to the industrialization plans, Mahama assured the communities of his commitment to improving the infrastructure, particularly the road networks, to facilitate smooth transportation of goods and services.
He noted that better roads would not only enhance connectivity within the region but also support the efficient movement of people and goods, thus contributing to the overall economic development of the area.
Mahama stressed that these initiatives are part of a broader strategy to rejuvenate the local economy, create jobs for the youth, and improve the quality of life for residents.
He called on the electorate to support his vision for a transformed and industrialized Ghana, where economic activities are sustained throughout the day and night.
