John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, has urged party members to remain vigilant on election day, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding their votes to secure an NDC victory.
John Mahama expressed concerns about the neutrality of the judiciary, alleging that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appointed judges sympathetic to their cause.
He cautioned that any disputes arising from the election may end up in court, where he fears the NDC might not receive a fair hearing.
To prevent this, he called on NDC members to act as polling agents and closely monitor the voting process.
“The NPP is cunning; they may attempt to rig the election and then push us to court, knowing they have stacked it with their people. We’re not going to let it come to that. We must be vigilant on election day,” he stated.
Speaking at a rally in the Cape Coast South Constituency as part of his Central Regional tour, John Mahama likened the December 7 election to Ghana’s fight for independence.
“This election is our second independence. Just as Kwame Nkrumah led us to freedom, we will say, at long last, the battle has ended, and Ghana, our beloved country, is free forever,” he declared passionately, confident in the NDC’s chances.
Promising real change, John Mahama reassured supporters, “Do not be swayed; the NDC will win this election to reset the country.”
He also pledged to complete phase two of the Kotokoraba Market construction, ensuring those who missed out on space in the first phase would have an opportunity.
