Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)John Dramani Mahama has pledged to construct an ultra-modern market for the people of Mankessim in the Central Region if elected in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Speaking to a crowd as part of his Central Regional tour, Mr. Mahama highlighted Mankessim’s historic significance as one of Ghana’s oldest markets, alongside Techiman and Asesewa, underscoring the need to revitalize it to meet modern standards.
On the second day of his tour, November 9, 2024, John Mahama assured local chiefs and market vendors that the Mankessim market will see significant upgrades under his leadership.
He explained that a modernized market would not only honor its legacy but also boost local commerce, improve trading conditions, and contribute to the economic well-being of the entire region.
With the election just days away, John Mahama has intensified his campaign, promising initiatives to improve lives and urging Ghanaians to reflect on their living conditions over the last eight years under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
He emphasized that the NPP government has left the economy in disarray, and called on citizens to vote for change.
“Let’s assess how our lives have changed over the past eight years under the NPP. The economy has collapsed under their watch,” he remarked, making a case for Ghanaians to choose leadership that prioritizes economic growth and community development.
