Mahama Hosts Governance Forum Today

Former President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is set to host a highly anticipated Governance Forum tonight, October 31, at 6:00 PM.

This strategic event aims to bring key governance issues to the forefront as Ghana approaches its critical 2024 elections.

The forum, themed “Resetting Ghana for Good Governance and Accountability,” will be conducted through the #MahamaConversations platform, a digital initiative that has served as a major touchpoint for Mahama’s policy engagements.

This forum represents his commitment to addressing systemic governance challenges and engaging citizens directly on urgent national concerns.

In a pre-event statement, Mr. Mahama stressed that Ghana’s governance is at a critical juncture.

He warned that rising injustices, combined with an economy placing unprecedented hardships on millions, threaten the stability and prosperity of the nation.

His vision for a “reset” of governance in Ghana is anchored in a commitment to accountability and justice, which he views as vital pillars for national renewal.

During the forum, Mahama will introduce several key initiatives to bolster accountability, including his proposal to establish a Governance Advisory Council.

This body, he explained, would play a crucial role in promoting transparency, enhancing political governance, and acting as a watchdog to curb corruption.

Furthermore, the council would advocate for the protection of human rights, aiming to restore public confidence in government institutions.

The Governance Forum will be broadcast live across multiple platforms, ensuring that it reaches a broad audience.

Coverage will include television, radio, and social media channels, allowing Ghanaians nationwide and in the diaspora to tune in and participate in this pivotal discussion on the future of governance in Ghana.
