Mahama Administration Remains Steadfast in Advancing Quality Teaching and Research — Vice President Opoku-Agyemang

Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to strengthening teaching, research, and learning across the country’s tertiary institutions.

Addressing the 59th Postgraduate Congregation of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the Vice President noted that the government, under President John Dramani Mahama, continues to champion policies that expand access and enhance the quality of higher education.

She highlighted several transformative interventions, including the Free Tertiary Education initiative for Persons Living with Disabilities and the No-Fee Street Policy, describing them as bold measures that are reshaping Ghana’s educational landscape and promoting equity in learning opportunities.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang also commended KNUST for sustaining its reputation as a centre of academic excellence and innovation. She applauded the institution for remaining globally relevant through cutting-edge research, impactful teaching, and its continued contribution to national development.

She further encouraged the graduating class to apply their advanced training to solving societal challenges and driving progress in their respective fields.
