Lyon Players Show Support for Injured Star Ernest Nuamah During Manchester United Clash

In a heartwarming display of solidarity, Olympique Lyonnais players showed their support for Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah during their Europa League game against Manchester United on Thursday evening.

Nuamah, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, was honored by his teammates in a special gesture.

 

After scoring their first goal in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United, Lyon players lifted Nuamah’s jersey aloft in a show of support for their injured teammate.

Moussa Niakhite and Corretin Tolisso were joined by other teammates in celebrating with Nuamah’s jersey, demonstrating the strong bond and camaraderie within the team.

 

The Europa League match against Manchester United was a thrilling encounter, with both teams creating scoring opportunities.

Thiago Almada opened the scoring for Lyon after 25 minutes, but Manchester United responded at halftime with a goal from defender Lenny Yoro.

Joshua Zirkzee thought he had won the game for United with an 88th-minute header, but Ryan Cherki levelled in stoppage time, securing a 2-2 draw for Lyon.

 

Nuamah’s injury is a significant blow to Lyon, as he is expected to be out for 4 to 6 months.

The team’s show of support for their injured teammate is a testament to the strong team spirit and camaraderie within the squad. Nuamah’s recovery will be closely followed by the Lyon faithful, who wish him a speedy return to full fitness.
