Legon Cities Sack Yaw Acheampong Amid Relegation Fears

Legon Cities have parted ways with head coach Yaw Acheampong due to the team’s poor performance and relegation concerns.

Acheampong’s tenure, which began in January, was marked by disappointing results.

The 1-0 loss to Basake Holy Stars was the final straw, leading to Acheampong’s dismissal. Despite his experience, he failed to turn the team’s fortunes around.

Legon Cities have appointed Tijani Abdul Rahim, a former assistant to Maxwell Konadu and ex-head coach of Young Apostles, to take over the team. Rahim’s task is to guide the Royals to safety and avoid relegation.

Legon Cities currently sit 17th on the table with 25 points, five matches to go. The team faces an uphill battle to secure their top-flight status.
