LeBron James hits the 40,000 Mark 

Lebron James is the first NBA player in history to reach 40,000 career points beating former teammate Kareem Abdul Jabbah.

The Los Angeles crowd roared to the highly anticipated shot to mark the record and gave him a standing ovation.

The 39year is averaging 25 points per game and this helps his team the Lakers beat the Clippers by turning a deficit of 21 points.

James won four titles with three different teams, four MVP awards and four final MVP awards.

Lebron James has an option to extend his contract to another year with the Lakers.
