Lashibi Community Senior High School is calling for increased public awareness and community support to improve its visibility, attract more students and showcase its academic achievements ahead of its anniversary celebration scheduled for November 6, 2026.
The school’s management made the appeal during an engagement on Ahotor FM 92.3, where representatives discussed the institution’s enrolment, infrastructure, discipline, academic performance and plans to strengthen its relationship with the community.
The Assistant Headmistress in charge of Domestic Affairs, Miss Anastasia Grace Annie, expressed appreciation to Ahotor FM for providing the school with an opportunity to introduce itself to the general public and highlight its activities.
She explained that her responsibilities include overseeing the school’s infrastructure, buildings and other properties to ensure they are properly maintained and kept in good condition.
Miss Annie also indicated that maintaining discipline within the school forms part of her responsibilities, stressing that proper management of facilities and discipline are essential to creating a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
She therefore called on residents of Lashibi and other stakeholders to take a keen interest in the institution and support its development.
School seeks improved visibility
During the engagement, the school’s representatives expressed concern about what they described as limited public awareness of Lashibi Community Senior High School, despite its presence within the community.
According to the school’s representative, the institution currently has approximately 1,000 students, including about 600 first-year students, while efforts have also been made to secure additional placements for prospective students.
He explained that inadequate publicity remains one of the challenges affecting the school’s ability to attract more students.
He cited an informal survey conducted among approximately 200 people, which, according to him, suggested that awareness of the school’s existence among some residents was relatively low.
The representative noted that some residents occasionally see the school’s buses and pickup vehicles on the roads but are unaware that the institution operates within the Lashibi community.
He stressed the need for stronger publicity and improved visibility to ensure that more parents, guardians and prospective students become aware of the school and the educational opportunities it offers.
The representative also raised concerns about the school’s branding and visibility, including the display of its crest and other identifying materials on students’ uniforms.
He expressed the hope that increased media exposure and community engagement would help improve enrolment and strengthen the institution’s public image.
Focus on academic performance and discipline
Beyond enrolment and publicity, the school emphasised the importance of integrity, professionalism, teamwork and discipline in achieving its educational objectives.
The representative expressed optimism that students preparing for their final examinations would perform well and come out with flying colours.
He added that the school remained committed to improving its academic performance and recording further successes in line with its annual academic calendar.
Management believes that maintaining discipline, protecting school property and creating a conducive learning environment are essential to improving students’ academic outcomes.
Miss Annie’s explanation of her responsibilities also highlighted the importance of properly maintaining school facilities and ensuring that the institution’s properties are handled responsibly.
Anniversary celebration on November 6
Lashibi Community Senior High School has announced November 6, 2026, as the date for its anniversary celebration and is encouraging members of the public and other stakeholders to take an interest in the occasion.
Miss Annie said the anniversary would provide an opportunity to bring greater attention to the institution and strengthen its relationship with the wider community.
She encouraged individuals seeking information about the school, its activities and other related matters to contact the administration.
Members of the public can visit the school’s premises and make enquiries at the administration office, located on the ground floor in the first office to the left.
The school said its administration and relevant officers are available to provide information and respond to enquiries.
Call for community and media support
The school’s representatives called for stronger partnerships with stakeholders, particularly the media, to publicise the institution’s activities, promote its achievements and encourage community participation in its development.
They expressed appreciation to Ahotor FM 92.3 for offering the school a platform to communicate directly with listeners and raise awareness of its work.
The engagement forms part of efforts to strengthen the school’s public profile, encourage greater interest in its educational activities and build stronger links with residents of Lashibi and surrounding communities.
