Lakers Star LeBron James Breaks NBA record

This record highlights James' remarkable performances across 21 seasons.

Legend LeBron James added another milestone to his career Thursday night, overtaking fellow American, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most regular season minutes in NBA history during the Lakers’ 113-100 victory over Sacramento Kings.

James played 34 minutes in the win, making his career total to 57,471 minutes – surpassing Abdul-Jabbar’s mark of 57,446. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar retired in 1989. The record comes less than a year after James broke Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

James, 39, said after the Lakers’ win against Sacramento: “It’s just a commitment to the craft and to the passion and love I have for the game,” James said.
“[My teammates] told me I’m old as hell. It’s a pretty cool honour. Obviously, anytime I’m linking with some of the greatest that ever played this game”.
“I’ve been available to my team-mates, I’ve been able to do this at a high level for two decades, and I continue to put myself in the record books in this game of basketball that I love so much, and the best league in the world. It’s pretty cool, and it’s very humbling.”
