Los Angeles Galaxy head coach Greg Vanny has lauded Ghanaian winger Joseph Painstil for his superb performance in his debut season.
Paintsil, who joined LA Galaxy from Belgian side KRC Genk earlier in 2024, registered an impressive 14 goals and eight assists in 34 games.
His contributions played a significant role in the team’s MLS Cup success, with LA Galaxy clinching their sixth title, a record number of title wins in the MLS.
Vanney commended Paintsil’s ability to adapt quickly to the league, saying, “It was about our style of play, about the profiles that we wanted, and finding guys that we felt like really fit with the guys we had… Joe (Joseph Paintsil) to start with them.
“I mean their ability to adapt to this league quickly and just have incredible seasons… they hit the ground running and had huge seasons.”
Paintsil scored the opening goal in LA Galaxy’s 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls in the MLS Cup Final, capping off an impressive debut season in the MLS.
