“Kwabena Adu-Boahene Trial: Court Sets May 26 Deadline for Witness Statements”

The Accra High Court has issued a significant directive in the ongoing criminal trial of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former head of the National Signals Bureau (NSB). Presiding Justice John Eugene Nyadu Nyante has ordered the prosecution team, led by the Attorney General, to submit all witness statements by May 26, 2025.

This development aims to streamline the trial process and ensure that both parties are adequately prepared. Justice Nyante expressed concerns about the personal liberties of the accused, particularly Mr. Adu-Boahene, emphasizing the need for an expeditious trial.

The court encouraged the Deputy Attorney General to prioritize efficiency in the trial proceedings, ensuring that justice is served without undue delay. Mr. Adu-Boahene and his wife, who are both defendants in the case, are currently out on bail.

As the trial progresses, the court’s directive is expected to facilitate a smoother and more transparent process, allowing both the prosecution and defense to present their cases effectively. The outcome of this trial will likely have significant implications for all parties involved.
