The Member of Parliament for the Krowor Constituency in the Greater Accra Region and Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has advised beneficiaries of her MP Business Support Initiative to make prudent use of the assistance they have received by investing it directly into their businesses to ensure growth and sustainability.

According to her, the support is meant to empower small-scale entrepreneurs and groups to expand their economic activities and improve their livelihoods, and not to be spent on leisure or Christmas celebrations. She stressed that the initiative is a long-term intervention aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment, especially among women and the youth in the constituency.
Speaking to Ahotor News during the disbursement of the third and final tranche of the 2025 MP Business Support Initiative, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey revealed that her team will continuously monitor beneficiaries to assess how the support is being utilized and to measure the impact on their businesses.
She explained that the monitoring exercise will help ensure accountability, proper use of the items and funds, and also guide future interventions under the programme. Beneficiaries who demonstrate commitment and business growth, she noted, may be considered for further support in subsequent phases.
Items distributed under the initiative include deep freezers, industrial and domestic sewing machines, and tricycles popularly known as “Aboboyaa” to support traders, dressmakers, food vendors, and transport operators. In addition, some individuals received cash support ranging from GH¢1,200 to GH¢3,000, while selected groups and associations were supported with amounts between GH¢20,000 and GH¢40,000 to boost their collective businesses.
Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey reaffirmed her commitment to empowering constituents through sustainable economic initiatives and urged beneficiaries to remain disciplined, hardworking, and focused on growing their enterprises for the benefit of their families and the entire Krowor community.
