Kotoko Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum Hails Victory Over Basake Holy Stars
Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has praised his team’s narrow victory over Basake Holy Stars in the Ghana Premier League, highlighting its significance in boosting their confidence.
The Porcupine Warriors secured a 1-0 win over Basake Holy Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon, courtesy of Samuel Tenedu’s deflected strike in the 14th minute. This triumph marked Kotoko’s third consecutive win and extended their unbeaten run to four matches.
With this victory, Kotoko surged to the top of the league table, one point clear of their closest rivals. The Porcupine Warriors capitalized on Bibiani Gold Stars’ failure to win at home against Hearts of Oak, further solidifying their position.
Speaking after the game, Ogum commended his players for their outstanding performance this season. “I’ll commend the players for the good job they’ve done so far. Despite the tight schedules, they’ve shown high levels of energy in all matches,” he said.
Ogum emphasized that the victory over Basake Holy Stars serves as a significant confidence booster for the team. “To play in the Ghana Premier League and be on top gives you a lot of hope,” he noted.
With momentum on their side, Kotoko will shift their focus to their upcoming home fixture against Berekum Chelsea. The Porcupine Warriors aim to strengthen their grip on the league’s top spot and continue their impressive run.
