David Ocloo has reportedly stepped down from his role as assistant coach of Asante Kotoko following the team’s narrow 1-0 win again eternal rivals, Hearts of Oak, in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday. It is unclear what necessitated the move as his exit has left the club and many in shock
Ocloo first joined Asante Kotoko in September 2021 as part of a technical team led by Prosper Narteh Ogum and supported by John Eduafo under the erstwhile Chief Executive Office, Nana Yaw Amponsah. He achieved with the Porcupines the Ghana Premier League in that season.
To be recalled, David Ocloo, then assistant coach, resigned from Hearts of Oak, Kotoko’s fiercest rivals in a similar mannerism switching camp to join Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
Ahead of the 2023/24 season, Ocloo returned to Asante Kotoko, reuniting with the technical staff in his familiar role as assistant coach.
