Ghanaian entertainment critic and blogger Derrick Manny Everywhere has expressed his support for King Promise to win the Artist of the Year award at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
He believes that the singer has more than proven himself deserving of this prestigious accolade.
Speaking on Ahotor Mmre with Obaapa Janee, Derrick made a compelling case: “King Promise deserves the Artist of the Year tomorrow because he’s done the work.
And even looking at the TGMA’s own definition of the category—especially with the highest nominations—then King Promise is there.”
He noted that the “Terminator” hitmaker had an outstanding musical career under the year of review, with multiple chart-topping hits, massive streaming numbers, and electrifying performances both in Ghana and on international stages.
“King Promise has shown consistency, growth, and garnered both local and international audience appeal, steadily evolving his sound while maintaining authenticity. From his early hits to international collaborations and performances on global stages, he’s proven himself as one of Ghana’s most promising musical exports.”
As anticipation builds for the TGMA, Derrick’s endorsement adds significant momentum to King Promise’s campaign for the top honor.
The TGMA, formerly known as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, has been the ultimate stage for recognising Ghanaian musical excellence since its inception in 2000.
Now under the sponsorship of Telecel, the awards continue to set the standard for honouring artistry, influence, and cultural impact.
Although King Promise has been nominated for and won several awards in previous years, he has yet to secure the Artiste of the Year title — that is, until now. Perhaps.
