Kim Lars Björkegren Arrives in Ghana to Take the Reins of Black Queens

Kim Lars Björkegren, the newly appointed head coach of the Ghana Women’s National Team, the Black Queens, has arrived in Ghana. Björkegren replaces Nora Hauptle, who previously held the position.

He replaces Nora Hauptle who left Ghana following contract expiration to join Zambia’s Coppper Queens last December.

The Swedish tactician boasts an impressive coaching resume, having previously led several top-tier teams in Europe. His expertise and experience are expected to inject new energy and momentum into the team, which has been working to regain its competitive edge.

Björkegren will meet with the media at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Conference Room on Friday, February 14, 2025, where he will outline his strategy for the team’s success.
