Reflecting on his transition, Boateng shared a chuckle at being called a top player, but quickly turned the conversation to his newfound purpose.

“When I was still playing for Hertha, I was thinking – what am I gonna do later on?” he revealed.

Initially considering a coaching career, Boateng realized that patience wasn’t his strong suit. However, his desire to make a meaningful impact on the sport remained.

“I wanna assist young players because I’ve had a lot of experience in my career,” he explained. “I had a lot of agents – some good, some bad – and I know how it can be. If you have the wrong advice, it can be really, really tough.”

With Rookie & Champ, Boateng is on a mission to provide guidance and support to the next generation of footballers.

“I just said I would love to help young players, get them on the right path, show them what counts, and keep them humble as much as possible,” he emphasized.
