Ketu North MP calls on government to address rent issues

Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North constituency, is urging the government to address the pressing issue of rent in Ghana, which he believes is a top priority for the country’s youth.

As a young MP, Agbana had firsthand encounters with the youth during his campaign tour, and they consistently highlighted rent as a major concern.

Agbana is now advocating for the government to take action, particularly as the finance minister prepares to present the first budget of the year.

He’s optimistic that the president, known for being responsive, will work with the works and housing minister to deliver solutions.

Interestingly, research from Afrobarometer suggests that Ghanaian youth are indeed concerned about economic issues, including unemployment and the cost of living.

The Ghana Youth Barometer 2024 Report also highlights the challenges faced by young people in accessing affordable housing and employment opportunities.

It’s heartening to see young leaders like Agbana amplifying the voices of Ghanaian youth and pushing for policy changes that address their pressing concerns.
