Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana suffered a setback in Atalanta’s Coppa Italia match against Genoa, getting injured just 21 minutes into the game.
Sulemana, who joined Atalanta in the summer, sustained a muscle strain in his right adductor and will undergo scans to determine the extent of the injury.
Atalanta secured a 4-0 win over Genoa, booking their spot in the quarterfinals. Berat Djimsiti opened the scoring in the 19th minute, followed by Marten de Roon’s goal in the 54th minute. Mario Pasalic and Honest Ahanor sealed the victory with late goals.
The 23-year-old Ghana international has made 15 appearances for Atalanta, scoring two goals and delivering an assist. This injury is another blow to Sulemana, who has struggled with injuries in the past
