Ghana Premier League powerhouse Kumasi Asante Kotoko have on Thursday announced deputy captain Justice ‘Nkunku’ Blay has signed a new contract extending his stay until 2026.
Justice Blay has already spent four seasons with the club after his first loan spell from Tarkwa based Medeama SC in 2019 where he played mostly as central defensive midfielder.
“We are excited to announce that Vice-Captain Justice Blay has signed a new deal to stay with Asante Kotoko for an additional one and a half years,” the club’s statement read.
Blay who has become a pivotal member of Ogum’s side expressed after putting pen to paper that he ready and will commit his all to the club.
“This extension reflects Blay’s unwavering commitment to the club and his desire to help us achieve our goals.”
“Kotoko is my home. I’m grateful for the trust the club has shown in me and the incredible support from the fans. I’m ready to continue giving my all for this badge’’, he said
Head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum also remarked the importance of Blay to his set up adding the 25-year old brings so much to his team not only on the pitch but also in the locker room.
“Justice brings so much to the team both on and off the pitch. His extension is great news for all of us,’’ he said.
Blay has featured in 12 out of 15 Ghana Premier League matches, netting ones for the Porcupines this season.
