Accra, 20 November 2025: The Presidency of the Republic of Ghana on Thursday commemorated International Men’s Day under the theme “Healthy Men, Strong Families, Progressive Workplace” at a well-attended ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House.
Delivering the keynote address, Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo urged men to prioritise their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, stressing that “if we want strong families and a productive workplace, then we must first build healthy men.”
The event, chaired by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, brought together senior government officials, including the Secretary to Cabinet, the Chief Director, the Ashanti Regional Minister, and staff from across the Presidency.
Hon. Bampoe Addo highlighted the multiple roles men play as leaders in the office, providers at home, and problem solvers in their communities, noting that these responsibilities often leave them vulnerable to stress, fatigue, and silent health challenges.
She outlined practical steps for healthier living, including balanced nutrition, regular exercise singling out the Chief of Staff’s popular “Walk with Julius” initiative for praise, routine medical check-ups, rest, mindfulness practices, and building supportive networks where men feel safe to talk.
She linked men’s health directly to national development, stating that a healthy male workforce is essential to delivering the Reset Agenda of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.
She concluded on a high note with the traditional Ghanaian cheer “Ayeekooo!” and warm wishes of “Happy International Men’s Day” to all men serving the nation.
