Jordan Ayew Praises Father Abedi Pele’s Influence on His Football Career

Ghana international Jordan Ayew has expressed his gratitude for the significant impact his father, Abedi Pele, has had on his football career and that of his brothers.

As the son of a legendary footballer, Jordan has faced high expectations throughout his career, but he believes that he and his brothers have coped well with the pressure.

Jordan and his brother Andre both followed in their father’s footsteps by playing for Olympique Marseille, Abedi Pele’s former club, before moving to the Premier League.

Currently playing for Leicester City, Jordan has made over 300 Premier League appearances and is confident that he and his brother still have plenty to offer in the game.

Jordan credits his parents for their unwavering support and guidance throughout his career.

“My Dad has done a lot for not only me, but my whole family,” he said. “It’s not easy to come after your father in a sense of the expectations being so high back home and even in Europe.” He added that his mother has always been positive and encouraging, saying, “My Mum tells me that, but mums are always positive! Personally, that’s how I feel, that my parents can be proud of the journey me and my brother have made.”

As captain of the Ghana national team, Jordan Ayew is determined to continue making his parents proud.

“There’s still more to come from us, and hopefully we can give them more moments to enjoy,” he said.

Jordan is set to feature for Leicester City in their upcoming Premier League match against Brighton at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday.

The Ayew family has a rich legacy of football excellence, with Abedi Pele being one of the greatest African footballers of all time.

Jordan and his brothers have followed in his footsteps, and their success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the guidance of their parents.
