Jordan Ayew Expresses Delight In Scoring Winning Goal Against Southampton
Leicester City Striker Jordan Ayew has expressed pride in his abilities after scoring a crucial late winner in Leicester City’s dramatic comeback victory over Southampton after been down in 2-0 in the first half over the weekend.
However, in a remarkable turnaround, Jordan Ayew made a dash to the near post to meet a corner in the 98th minute, scoring the decisive goal and securing a 3-2 win for Leicester City.
In a post match interview ,Jordan Ayew spoke confidently about his contributions and called his last minute goal as a “special moment”.
“It was obviously my first goal for the club in the league, and it took a bit of time, but I believe in myself and my abilities. I know I can contribute a lot, and I’m happy for the fans, for myself, and for my family.” – he said.
Southampton had taken control early in the match with first-half goals from Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo, giving them a comfortable lead at the break.
Leicester began their comeback in the 64th minute when Facundo Buonanotte scored with an assist from Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku. Jamie Vardy then leveled the match in the 74th minute with a penalty. Ayew, who joined Leicester in the summer, capped the team’s effort with his winning goal, set up by Harry Winks.
