John Mahama Slams NPP for Economic Mismanagement, Urges Ghanaians to Choose Development with NDC

John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized the ruling government for what he describes as the mismanagement and misuse of funds borrowed during its tenure.

According to Mr. Mahama, if his administration had access to the amount of money the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has borrowed over the past eight years, Ghana would have transformed significantly, comparing the potential development to that of Dubai.

Speaking during a Special Islamic Prayer Session held in his honor at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Mr. Mahama expressed concern about the state of the country’s economy.

He noted that the situation worsened when the President’s brother was appointed as Finance Minister, a decision he believes symbolizes nepotism and poor governance.

“It is shocking to realize that this government has borrowed more money than any administration in Ghana’s history, yet there is little to show for it,” Mr. Mahama stated. He highlighted the severe economic hardships faced by Ghanaians, attributing them to the NPP’s alleged poor policy decisions and mismanagement.

Mr. Mahama accused the NPP of deliberately collapsing key sectors of the economy through ill-advised policies and incompetence.

He urged Ghanaians to hold the ruling party accountable by voting them out in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that a continuation of the NPP’s leadership would bring dire consequences for the nation.

He called on citizens to choose the NDC, a party he described as one committed to sustainable development and the well-being of the people.

“The NDC is the party of progress and transformation. Together, we can rebuild this nation and restore hope,” he concluded.
